Rosemary Crandall's Bio

In the 20 years Rosemary Crandall has sold real estate in the Sarasota-Manatee county area the real estate market has moved up and down and pretty much stayed the same over the long haul. The same can’t be said for this part of West Coast Florida, it’s grown greatly.

“Real estate prices today are about the same as they were when I first got in the business in 1990,” she said. “I remember in those days $150,000 bought you a whole lot of house. Today $150,000 gets you a whole lot of house in this area of Florida, too.

“Twenty years ago, when I first got in the business, the housing market in Sarasota-Manatee was climbing. When it reached 2000 it skyrocketed, but then it fell back to earth. Now it’s starting to go up once more. I’m seeing more buyers coming out of the woodwork. This is the time to buy,” Rosemary said.

She became associated with Green Lion six months ago.

“I liked what Shannon and Roxanne were doing with foreclosed properties and general real-estate,” she said. “I found out they had a need for someone in the Sarasota area to handle foreclosure properties for them so I came on board,” Rosemary said.

Years before she got in the real estate business, she was a licensed optomologist with her own business — “Mobile Vision Care.”

“I traveled to all the nursing homes and retirement centers from Tarpon Springs to Port Charlotte in the 1970s and ’80s selling glasses,” Rosemary said. “I sold my company to a major optomology group.

“After that I decided I wanted to do something fun, so I got my real estate license. I’m really glad I did.”

She and her husband, Jeff, live in Sarasota. When she isn’t selling homes Rosemary likes to cook.
